Guide and FAQ

Test room by room

In larger apartments and villas, the speed you get depends on where you are. Run the test next to the router, then in each room where you use the internet, and note the results. Rooms that score far below the rest are where your Wi‑Fi needs help, not your du line.

Mesh or a Wi‑Fi extender?

A simple extender repeats the signal on the same channel, which can cut its speed roughly in half. A mesh system uses several units that work together and usually keeps more of your speed across the home. For large homes, a mesh system or a wired access point gives the most consistent results.

Before you call 155

Test by cable next to the router three times at different times of day and keep a screenshot of each result. If the cable results match your plan, the slow rooms are a Wi‑Fi coverage issue you can fix at home.

What your numbers mean

Download speed matters most for browsing, streaming and downloading games. Upload speed matters for video calls, sending photos and videos, and live streaming. Ping is the time a signal takes to reach the server and come back, and the lower it is, the better for gaming and calls. Jitter is how much your ping changes from moment to moment, and high jitter makes call audio break up.

500 Mbps	29 min

Frequently asked questions

Does the speed test use my du data?

Yes, but only a little. The test stops as soon as the reading is steady, so it usually uses less than 50 MB, and we show you the actual usage after every test. The optional extended test uses more.

Does a Wi‑Fi extender slow down my internet?

It often does. A basic extender receives and resends on the same channel, so the speed it passes on can be about half. Mesh systems or wired access points lose much less.

Why is my du speed fine in one room and slow in another?

Wi‑Fi weakens with distance and through walls. Test in each room to find the weak spots, then move the router or add a mesh unit there.
